Before the Poem

I’m so excited to share the launch of Before the Poem, an eight part podcast in which I sit down with extraordinary poets to explore faith , spirituality and the creative act. Fascinated by the collision point between creator and creation: that place where words, divinity, doubt and imagination overlap. Together, we’ll explore the mystery of trying to make sense of the world through language, and the strange, beautiful work of creating something tangible out of the unseen. We’ll talk about ritual, grief, writing practice, childhood, performance, belonging, prayer, solitude, collectivity, mystery and so much more. These conversations are for atheists, believers, seekers and everyone in between. These podcast has been gestating in me for quite some time, and I’m incredibly grateful that @emblaze.uk believed in the idea and helped make it possible. Their support has allowed me to collaborate with the brilliant sound designer @pantherpantherav and spend time with writers whose work I deeply admire, creating a series that I belive is inspiring, moving and very real. We’ll be releasing one episode on the last Sunday of every month, with one special bonus appearing along the way. The first launches next Sunday, with the glorious writer Vanessa Kisuule, and I can’t wait for you to join us, wherever you get your podcasts, I’ll see you there.
